It is difficult to write a blogpost while we are facing uncertain times with this pandemic surrounding us. And it is also difficult to feel happy that spring has arrived when we face the required social distancing. We all must be apart socially while this passes and we must also stay home as much as possible and do our part to reduce this virus surrounding us.
Nonetheless, I have decided to write this blogpost to simply brighten your day even if it is only visually and hoping, in the near future, that we could all again be able to be together and entertain as before.
I created this small indoor tablescape since our weather isn’t cooperating lately to eat outdoors yet. Creating a pretty tablescape during these times is almost necessary to uplift our spirits.
These beautiful plates caught my eye at Hobby Lobby when I went looking, of course, for something else....and may I say that I am terrible at just getting what I need there, my eyes always wonder. Anywho, I love blue and so these just had to come home with me and they were at 50% off so for about $12 I had a set of six. Not bad huh?
I love using the bread board as a centerpiece. Of course, they are great for bread and as a charcuterie board but I also love to use it for decor as you see here. I love mixing textures like the porcelain plates and the rustic center bucket, or the tulips with the birch branches together. I think a mixture of the two textures is what I love most.
I love using these natural placemats since they bring so much texture to the tablescape. And my silverware that I found at a flea market for $1/each. Now how can I say no to that?
Here's a close up of the rustic bucket. I found this one at a local pop up vintage market. I love when those markets pop up since you can find so many goodies and you don't need to drive far to a flea market.
If you like a diy, you can also use a regular bucket and distress it yourself with steel wool and toilet bowl Lysol cleaner. I might have to write a post about the how-to but it is really easy.
If you noticed, I have used different color napkins, some are blue and some are yellow...I simply like to play around and not make it so formal. By doing this, in my eyes, it makes the tablescape simple and informal.
I hope you have enjoyed this and I have inspired you to create a tablescape of your own with items you might have on hand. And if interested, I have listed some sources below for you.
So let's make these days a little brighter by creating a beautiful tablescape for your loved ones while they are all at home. I think bringing a little sunshine to our homes may help us all get through these difficult times. Stay safe and healthy dear friends.
Thank you for stopping by,
Alicia
Here is a list of sources for you. Please note that I may not find the exact item for you but something similar that would also work. This post contains affiliate links.
